چکیده

We present a simple heuristic-based Sinusoidal Partial Tracking (PT) algorithm for singing analysis. Our PT algorithm uses a heuristic of minimal frequency and magnitude difference to track sinusoidal partials in the popular music. An Ideal Binary Mask (IBM), which is created from the ground truth of the singing voice and the music accompaniment, is used to identify the sound source of the partials. In this justifiable way, we are able to assess the quality of the partials identified from the PT algorithm. Using the iKala dataset along with the IBM and BSS Eval 3.0 as a new method of quantifying the partials quality, the comparative results show that our PT algorithm can achieve 0.8746 ∼ 1.7029 dB GNSDR gain, compared to two common benchmarks, namely the MQ algorithm and the SMSPT algorithm. Thus, our PT algorithm can be considered as a new benchmark of the PT algorithm used in singing analysis.

Using Linear Prediction to Enhance the Tracking of Partials

In this article, we present an enhanced algorithm, of low complexity, for the tracking of partials in the context of sinusoidal modeling. By considering the past evolution of each partial in the time/frequency and time/amplitude planes to predict its future evolutions, this algorithm allows a better discrimination between sinusoidal and noisy components and an easier cancellation of sudden chan...

Enhanced Partial Tracking Using Linear Prediction

In this paper, we introduce a new partial tracking method suitable for the sinusoidal modeling of mixtures of instrumental sounds with pseudo-stationary frequencies. This method, based on the linear prediction of the frequency evolutions of the partials, enables us to track these partials more accurately at the analysis stage, even in complex sound mixtures. This allows our spectral model to be...

Singing Pitch Extraction by Voice Vibrato / Tremolo Estimation and Instrument Partial Deletion

This paper proposes a novel and effective approach to extract the pitches of the singing voice from monaural polyphonic songs. The sinusoidal partials of the musical audio signals are first extracted. The Fourier transform is then applied to extract the vibrato/tremolo information of each partial. Some criteria based on this vibrato/tremolo information are employed to discriminate the vocal par...

Non-harmonic Sinusoidal Modeling Synthesis Using Short-time High-resolution Parameter Analysis

This paper describes a method to perform analysis and resynthesis of non-harmonic and possibly simple polyphonic musical signals. Sinusoidal parameter extraction is performed using the highresolution matrix-pencil method. Instead of operating on the complete signal all at once, a short-time approach has been developed both to reduce the computational complexity and for the resynthesis to be cap...

Improved Partial Tracking Technique for Sinusoidal Modeling of Speech and Audio

The paper presents a simple, yet very effective tracking technique for time-varying sinusoidal partials within sinusoidal and hybrid models of speech and audio. The issues of several existing tracking techniques are discussed in the paper. We extend the classic tracking algorithm of McAulay and Quatieri by the inclusion of frequency and amplitude skew factors estimated in the process of chirp a...
